- Preparation of a mixture and a compound using iron filings and sulphur powder and distinguishing them based on appearance, magnetic behavior, solubility in carbon disulphide, and effect of heat.
- Performing and classifying reactions as physical or chemical changes:
- Iron with copper sulphate solution
- Burning magnesium ribbon
- Zinc with dilute sulfuric acid
- Heating copper sulfate crystals
- Sodium sulfate with barium chloride
- Preparation of stained temporary mounts of onion peel and human cheek cells, with labeled diagrams.
- Identification of plant and animal tissues (Parenchyma, Collenchyma, Sclerenchyma, muscle fibers, and nerve cells).
- Determination of melting and boiling points of ice and water.
- Verification of laws of reflection of sound.
- Density determination of a solid using a spring balance and measuring cylinder.
- Relation between loss in weight of solids in water (tap water vs. salty water).
- Determination of speed of a pulse through a stretched string or slinky.
- Verification of the law of conservation of mass in a chemical reaction.
